If We Lived in a Perfect World?
Our world isn’t perfect. Is it better?
The world around us matters and that’s why we continue to ponder what a perfect world would be. We continue to blame this world because of all the miseries it has inflicted on people. We imagine a life that never was and nor will be. But we often forget one thing. What will happen to us in that world?
We all strive for perfection. It, sometimes, takes every ounce of courage to work for the things that are not going in the right direction. But it doesn’t mean we should be longing for a perfect world.
The world is perfect where every person feels the same things. Where every person respects another person’s opinion. Where there is no lies, no betrayal, and no worries. Deep down all of us want to be in a perfect world. The world which doesn’t need to and doesn’t ask us to change ourselves.
But what would happen if we were to live in a perfect world?
Whenever I try to imagine a world devoid of all the dilemmas, all the quandaries, only one image comes to my mind. It is what I imagined while reading The Giver. The book is a way to visualize how a world without worries would be. To all the advocates of a perfect world, this book is the best. When people don’t have feelings, don’t have a road follow, and have nothing to lose, they are terrible.

We would live but have no feelings.
We wouldn’t improve.
We would have nothing to work for.
Everything would be fine.
We would live in peaceful circumstances.
Our world would never have tasted war.
Would we be happy in that world? I don’t think so.
We are happy to achieve something. To earn respect, to earn money, to earn name and even to earn smile of the people that matter to us. In that world, we wouldn’t be having anything new. We would be static. Our lives would be like stagnant water and we would never feel a thing.
There would be no surprise. Everyone and everything would be acknowledged. How human race can gain something from that world?
War tells us what peace is. Death tells us what life is. Efforts tell us what success is. Loneliness tells us how union matters to us. When there is no need to prosper, no need to work for happiness there is no happiness.
Work of art which is a way of escapism, understanding, prosperity of so many people wouldn’t be there. Art and literature are based on imperfections of this world. Either it discusses details or it gives a way to make our world a little better. In a perfect world, there would be no past, no future.

So trying to have a perfect world is a dream of so many people and it can never come true. And it’s better than this dream is just a dream. We have to work to make the world around us perfect and then taste the fruit of that happiness. This world is all there is and all there should be!
